3rd crusade

Le Sire Leverick

Le Sire Leverick was Knighted in Palestine, where he was temp. Richard I.

His tomb plus effigy is possibly located in the St. Nicholas church of Ash in Kent (England). The Church in Ash appeared on a list of churches from c 1071 CE, which means it was in existence during the Crusades. At this moment the tomb is dedicated to John Leverick, who died around 1350 CE, more then 75 years after the Crusades ended. It is possible that this is a mistake and that the tomb belongs to the Crusader Le Sire Leverick, who was Knighted in Palestine during the 3rd Crusade. That would make the tomb, 150 year older than is believed today.
