List of all the Norman nobles, Knights and Esquires who went to the conquest of Jerusalem with Robert Duke de Normandy. Copied from a old manuscript written on vellum, found in the library of the cathedral of Bayeux entitled: Les anciennes histoires d' outremer. Le Sire de Graville also known as Robert I Malet, seigneur de Graville, Baron of Eye. This Crusader was chief of the feudal house of Malet. The same bearing of the buckles is assigned to the malets in the Roll of Ed II, though the present family have the escallops for their device. Arms: Gules, 3 fermals gold. |
