Edmund Goshall

Edmund Goshall's effigy can still be seen in the St. Nicholas church in Ash Kent. However, it seems to be dedicated to a "John Goshall", who lived around 1300 CE. Edmund Goshall, the 3rd Crusader Knight, lived a hundred year earlier around 1200 CE.

Richard I (the Lionheart) must have passed through the village of Ash when he returned from the third Crusade and his captivity in Austria. He arrived back in England on the 13th March 1194 CE, at the port of Sandwich and traveled to Canterbury.

Effigy dedicated to John Goshall 1307 CE page 201, is also dedicated to third crusader knight Edmond Goshall in The English Crusader, page 64. (See photos)
